Thanksgiving day
23/11/2023
Thanksgiving, an annual celebration marked by familial feasts, becomes an enlightening cross-cultural exploration for students. On Thanksgiving Day, traditions intertwine with themes of gratitude and harvest, seamlessly aligning with our Unit with a nature theme.
Engaging in class dialogue, students reflect on gratitude and nature, documenting daily observations in a Thankful Pie worksheet. Encouraged to articulate emotions using newfound vocabulary, they craft expressions like “I am grateful for…”.
The culmination involves a Thanksgiving Bingo handout, where students compete to mark off learned vocabulary, infusing excitement into the learning process. The first to complete a row or column and declare “Bingo!” emerges victorious, solidifying both vocabulary retention and a joyful educational experience.
