Adria School exploring local community – Marunada, Lovran
14/10/2024
On Friday, October 11th, our students embarked on an exciting and enriching field trip to Lovran, a picturesque coastal town on the Croatian Riviera. This immersive experience blended education, culture, and community involvement, offering our students an opportunity to learn in a truly inspiring setting while creating unforgettable memories.
Upon arriving in Lovran, students were captivated by the town’s charm as they wandered through the narrow streets of the Old Town, marveling at the blend of historic architecture. They delved into Lovran’s rich history, discovering its heritage and the town’s evolution into a sought-after summer destination during the 19th century.
The highlight of the trip was our participation in Mića Marunada, an annual festival celebrating local chestnut traditions. Our students actively engaged in a series of creative workshops hosted by the Društvo Naša djeca Opatija. These hands-on sessions provided unique learning experiences, encouraging our students to express their creativity while interacting with the local community in meaningful ways.
Through these diverse activities, our students developed crucial skills such as cultural awareness, communication, teamwork, and creative problem-solving. Most importantly, they strengthened their connection to the local culture and environment. The field trip to Lovran was not only an educational journey but also a chance for our students to experience the beauty and heritage of the region beyond the classroom walls.
We are deeply thankful for the opportunity to participate in this enriching experience and for the wonderful memories it has created for our students. This trip has left a lasting impression, reinforcing our commitment to holistic education and fostering a deeper appreciation for the world around us.
