From Korzo to Space: Our School at the Rijeka Carnival!

2/2/2026

This past Saturday, January 31st, Rijeka’s Korzo briefly transformed into a space station! Our students joined the 29th Children’s Parade of the Rijeka Carnival, proving once again that for their creativity, the sky is not the limit.

Marching as the 36th group, our astronauts bravely paraded through the center of Rijeka, leaving behind a stardust trail of fun and original costumes. As they prepared for “liftoff” at Delta, the atmosphere was electric with excitement, and the smiles beneath their helmets spoke louder than words.

Since its modern beginnings in 1982, when only three groups marched down Korzo, the Rijeka Carnival has grown into a true European phenomenon. We are especially pleased that our school, as part of the increasingly large and imaginative Children’s Parade, serves as a foundation for new generations of carnival participants. By blending old traditions with modern ideas, we proudly preserve the spirit of our region for the future.

A huge thank you to all the students, parents, and teachers who participated! We are incredibly proud of our astronauts and can’t wait to see where our imagination takes us in the next “fifth season”
