Lea Kumić
Lea is a teacher of Croatian language and literature and history, but also an educator, a mother, and an art lover, which makes her approach to learning unique and relatable to every child.
From an early age, she was shaped by a love for music—she played the violin and sang, and this sensitivity to the arts later transformed into a passion for language and literature. Her studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences were further enriched by a specialization in medieval studies at the prestigious Central European University (CEU) in Budapest, where she earned her master's degree with a thesis on Social Critique in the Comedies of Nikola Nalješković.
Her love for storytelling and language extends beyond the classroom. Her experience working with preschool children has shaped her into an adaptable and creative educator who knows how to tailor content to different age groups. She also holds a degree in early childhood education, focusing her research on Adriatic Stories and Legends – Adaptations for Preschoolers, exploring how to bring classic narratives closer to young children.
Lea believes that learning is a dynamic process that goes beyond merely transmitting facts. She approaches her students with understanding and enthusiasm, encouraging them to think critically, explore, and express themselves creatively. In her classroom, students are not passive listeners—they become storytellers, analysts, and explorers of the world through language and history.
When she's not in the classroom, Lea enjoys jazz, walks along the Rječina River, and spending time with her cats. Everything she loves finds its way into her teaching—through stories, music, and conversations, she inspires her students to learn with passion and an open heart
