International Day at: A School Where Children Learn About the World by Living It

6/5/2026

This Tuesday, Adria International School held its International Day — one of the most anticipated events of the school year — once again demonstrating what it truly means to be part of an international community.

Throughout the day, the school was transformed into a “small world.” With the support of teachers and parents, students had the opportunity to explore cultures from all corners of the globe — from the Philippines, Thailand, and China, to Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia, all the way to Brazil, Germany, Japan, and France.

What made the event especially unique was its authenticity — the cultural stations were designed and led by parents, teachers, and students themselves, who shared their languages, customs, stories, and experiences with the children. Through games, conversations, and interactive activities, students learned how to greet people in different languages, discovered the unique characteristics of various cultures, and gained a deeper understanding of how diverse and interconnected our world truly is.

Each child received their own “passport,” a symbol of curiosity and openness toward the world, which they filled out while visiting the stations and recording new knowledge and impressions.

At Adria International School, moments like these are not the exception — they reflect the school’s everyday approach to learning, where knowledge is not passed on only through textbooks, but through experience, dialogue, and meaningful connections with others.

The day concluded with a gathering in the school courtyard, featuring a variety of food prepared by parents and teachers. In a relaxed atmosphere filled with laughter and conversation, the sense of belonging to a community that embraces diversity and builds bridges between cultures grew even stronger.

International Day at Adria International School is not just an event — it is a powerful reminder of the values the school lives every day: openness, international-mindedness, and learning without boundaries.
