During the weekend of 8th and 9th March, we had the honour of welcoming back consultant and educational advisor Ali Hassan to our school. This visit offered our teachers of the Middle Years Programme (MYP) an opportunity to participate in a workshop titled “Developing the MYP”, focused on enhancing research-based and conceptual teaching approaches, as well as improving teaching practice.

Over the course of two days, our teachers had the chance to deepen their understanding of IB philosophy, the purpose of MYP education, and the coherence of the MYP curriculum. The workshop also covered topics such as Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills and unit planning, along with learning techniques for creating authentic assessment tasks and monitoring student progress.

This meeting proved to be incredibly beneficial, enabling teachers to expand their knowledge, exchange experiences and ideas, and foster a sense of community and mutual growth. We are grateful for this opportunity which has contributed to the further development of our school community and the enhancement of our educational approach.
