Does a student need to have an excellent mastery of English to be able to enrol into a programme in Adria?01

No, excellent mastery of English is not required. Students’ linguistic abilities are evaluated upon enrolment into a programme. The school provides English learning support for students who demonstrate insufficient knowledge thereof. 

What is included in the tuition?

The tuition covers almost all expenses that may occur during the year (e.g., costs of the enrolment process, nutrition, school uniform, textbooks, notebooks, teaching material, field work and school trips, commute (optional), extracurricular activities, and other). What documents do I need for enrolment?

Enrolment documentation is different for each programme and subject to statutory regulations of the Republic of Croatia. Information about the necessary documentation and enrolment procedure are available at Admissions or on request.

What is the amount of the yearly tuition?

Besides English, is there a possibility of learning some other foreign language?

Yes, students learn one other obligatory foreign language (German or Italian) and they have the option of learning an additional foreign language (Italian, German, Spanish) as part of their elective courses or extracurricular activities. Foreign students are required to learn Croatian as a foreign language, and the school strongly encourages learning of one’s mother tongue both within and outside the school.

When does the school year start and end?

The school year calendar is aligned with the Decision on the Start and End of the School Year issued each year by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia, and it coincides with the operating calendar of other schools in the country.

Is there the option of full-day classes in the school?

Yes, parents have the option of full-day classes in the kindergarten and school, where an additional meal and structured learning activities and games are prepared for the students. Children can remain at the school until 5pm each working day.

Is the State graduation exam obligatory for IB students?

IB graduation exams are recognized as state exams (Državna matura) and students apply for study programs at universities in the Republic of Croatia in the same way as students following national programs.
