At Adria International School in Opatija, we believe that learning should be both fun and meaningful! As some of our teachers are also Harry Potter fans, they used the students interes to create cool activities every kid will love – but also learn through it!

Our students dove into the enchanting world of Harry Potter across multiple subjects, sparking creativity, curiosity, and important life skills. Here’s how we made magic happen:

Digital Design Meets Hogwarts
Our students stepped into the shoes of magical problem-solvers, creating their very own Sorting Hat Algorithm! Using a Harry Potter-inspired decision tree, they analyzed traits like bravery, intelligence, and resourcefulness to determine which house a character belonged to. This exciting activity introduced them to the world of conditionals and algorithms—learning the language of technology while exploring decision-making in a way only Hogwarts could inspire!

Croatian Language and Literature
In literature class, the magic of J.K. Rowling’s world helped us unlock deeper insights into narrative techniques. We explored how authors create magical worlds that reflect real-life challenges, such as the battle between good and evil. Students analysed characters, connected them to the IB Learner Profile, and reflected on how attributes like being caring, an inquirer or open-minded can help us solve problems and build stronger relationships in our lives.

Music Brings the Magic Alive
In Arts: Music, our students learned to play Hedwig’s Theme on the piano! This iconic melody transported us straight to Hogwarts, while building confidence in musical expression and developing piano-playing skills.
