Ana Maria Matajčić
Ana Maria strives to help students reach their full potential by focusing on critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and personal growth. Her approach in the classroom is shaped by her diverse experiences, aiming to create a supportive space where every student can thrive academically and emotionally.
Ana Maria holds a Master's degree in Psychology from the University of Rijeka, with a particular focus on research in the role of feedback in the testing effect. During her studies, she worked with children volunteered with an association supporting children with developmental difficulties. She also served as an editor and reviewer for the journal of psychology students in Rijeka.
Her academic and research experience was enriched at the University of Padua, where she went as an exchange student which not only deepened her expertise in research but also gave her valuable insight into studying abroad and navigating a foreign language and culture. She uses this experience to foster an inclusive and understanding environment in her classroom.
At our school, she teaches psychology and social-emotional learning in the Middle Years Programme (MYP), where her educational philosophy emphasizes skill development over the memorization of facts.
