The final week of our Summer School was dedicated to the theme Lead & Take Action. Throughout the week, students discovered that leadership is not about being the loudest voice in the room—it is about listening, encouraging others, working together, and leading by example. Through hands-on challenges, creative projects, and team activities, they developed confidence, resilience, and collaboration skills while celebrating everything they had learned during the summer.

We began the week by exploring what makes a great leader. Along the Opatija coastline, students worked together to complete exciting team challenges that encouraged communication, problem-solving, and cooperation. As they supported one another and celebrated each success, they discovered that the strongest leaders help everyone in the team reach their goals.

In the afternoon, creativity took centre stage as students designed their own Leadership Superheroes. Through drawings and comic strips, they imagined heroes whose unique strengths could inspire others, solve problems, and make a positive difference in their communities. It was a wonderful opportunity for every child to recognise their own talents and reflect on how they can use them to help those around them.

Throughout the week, students also took part in teamwork activities such as the Human Knot, where communication, trust, and cooperation were the keys to success. Outdoor games kept everyone active while reinforcing the importance of working together toward a common goal.

One of the week’s highlights was stepping into the role of tour guides. Students confidently guided their classmates around Opatija, sharing interesting facts and introducing local landmarks. This activity gave them the chance to practise public speaking, build self-confidence, and strengthen their communication and leadership skills in a real-world setting.

The week also included opportunities to reflect on everything students had accomplished during the Summer School. They shared their favourite memories, celebrated personal achievements, and recognised how much they had grown—not only in knowledge, but also in confidence, teamwork, and independence.
