Marina Kinkela
Marina obtained an MA degree in English and German Language and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka. During her studies, she volunteered and taught English in children’s kindergartens in Berlin and Rijeka. Upon receiving an Erasmus scholarship, she went back to Berlin, where she provided assistance in one centre for migrant women. Working with many people from different cultures, mentalities, languages and religions appealed to her so much that she continued her professional path in Stuttgart as a pedagogical coordinator in a refugee reception centre. After many years of living abroad, in 2022 she came back with her family to her birthplace in Kvarner, where she began working as a teacher of German in the Traffic School in Rijeka. Marina considers exposing children’s minds to multilingualism and different cultures to be extremely important, not only for children's individual development, but for the progress of society as a whole. Her greatest desire is to impart her love for languages through her life experience and approach to children and young people, thus enriching their lives forever.
