World tie day

19/10/2023

World Tie Day, which is celebrated every year on October 18, has its roots in Croatia and is a special day dedicated to this elegant fashion accessory. This event celebrates the rich history and cultural heritage of the tie, which has become a recognizable symbol around the world.

The tie, recognizable by its long history and diverse ways of wearing it, has its roots in the 17th century, when the Croats, recognizable by their military cloaks with a tie, first attracted attention. Since then, the tie has become an integral part of world fashion and elegance.

Celebrating World Tie Day allows students around the world to learn about this special type of clothing and understand its cultural importance. Our students had the opportunity to learn about the history and different ways of tying a tie, thus gaining a deeper understanding of this fashion detail.

The students of the PYP1 program took a particularly creative approach to celebrating this day. Making your own tie and decorating it according to your own wishes is not only a fun task, but also an opportunity to express your own creativity. World Tie Day reminds us of the importance of preserving cultural heritage and tradition and encourages diversity and creativity in education.

This celebration also promotes unity and togetherness around the world, because the tie, although it has its roots in Croatia, today connects people all over the planet.
