Science, Courage and Climbing Walls: MYP Field Trip to Zagreb
2/11/2026

Our MYP students spent the day in Zagreb, starting with inventions at the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum and finishing with a few challenges of their own at AMAZ!NGA.
Nikola Tesla Technical Museum
The morning began with a guided tour of the museum’s permanent exhibition. Students explored scientific discoveries, technological innovations and the history of engineering, and saw up close how ideas turn into inventions. Some of those inventions were pretty cool, and the students were happy to say so.
AMAZ!NGA
In the afternoon it was time for some action. At AMAZ!NGA students climbed high above the ground, scaled climbing walls and stepped into virtual reality. There were plenty of chances to test their courage and challenge themselves, and just as many to cheer each other on.
Lunch was served at AMAZ!NGA from a pre-arranged group menu, so everyone had energy for the rest of the day.
Why We Go
A day like this brings a lot of the MYP together. In the morning students looked at how science and technology shape the world. In the afternoon they stepped out of their comfort zones and spent time with their peers outside the classroom. Both are part of learning.
After a full day, we headed back to Opatija with tired students and a lot of good stories.
