Adria International School invites applications for the position of International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) Coordinator for the 2027/2028 academic year.

The Role

The IB MYP Coordinator will play a central role in the academic leadership, implementation and continued development of the Middle Years Programme.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Leading the implementation, evaluation and ongoing improvement of the IB MYP in alignment with IB standards and practices.

• Supporting teachers in curriculum planning, interdisciplinary learning, inquiry-based teaching and assessment.

• Coordinating collaborative planning, professional development and programme documentation.

• Ensuring consistent approaches to learning, teaching and assessment across MYP subject groups.

• Mentoring, motivating and leading teachers while promoting accountability, teamwork and professional excellence.

• Supporting pastoral care and student well-being by working closely with teachers, families and school leadership to foster a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment, while promoting students’ personal, social and emotional development.

• Contributing to the development and implementation of student support strategies, positive behaviour approaches and a strong culture of care, belonging and mutual respect.

• Coordinating MYP-related projects, programme evaluation and communication with the International Baccalaureate Organization.

• Building strong, constructive and trusting relationships with students, parents and colleagues.

• Contributing to the strategic development, reputation and sustainable growth of the school.

• Supporting admissions and family engagement through professional communication and the clear presentation of the school’s educational philosophy and distinctive value.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must demonstrate:

• Previous professional experience as an IB MYP Coordinator, preferably in an authorised IB World School.

• A minimum of seven years of teaching experience in a recognised educational institution.

• English language proficiency at C2 level, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

• A relevant university degree and recognised teaching qualifications.

• Thorough knowledge of the IB MYP framework, programme requirements and IB standards and practices.

• Proven experience in curriculum leadership, teacher mentoring and educational programme development.

• Excellent organisational, communication and team leadership skills.

• A strong understanding of pastoral care, student well-being and the importance of creating a safe, supportive and inclusive school environment.
